The Office of General Counsel prepared an up-to-date inventory of legal mandates affecting higher education, particularly in the student affairs arena for the use of the Chief Student Affairs Administrators. The need for such a resource became even more urgent with the advent of the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) and its implementing regulations, which took effect July 1, 2010.

To consolidate and simplify the myriad disclosure requirements, the resource document created is a live-linked PDF format index and chart that details the federal and state legal requirements for disclosing information to students.
