Ann C. Williams

Ann C. Williams is Associate Counsel for the Western New York Regional Office for Health Sciences of The State University of New York Office of General Counsel. In this position, she provides legal support to the University at Buffalo Academic Health Center. Ms. Williams joined The State University of New York as an Associate Counsel in January 2008.  Prior to joining SUNY, Ms. Williams served for 9 years as an Assistant Attorney General in the New York State Office of the Attorney General in its Buffalo Regional Office. Before that, Ms. Williams served as an associate attorney for Phillips, Lytle LLP, in Buffalo, specializing in civil rights and labor and employment litigation. Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Williams was a Confidential Law Clerk to the Honorable Richard J. Arcara, United States District Judge, for the Western District of New York. Ms. Williams received a Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude, from the University at Buffalo School of Law in 1993, where she was a Note and Comment Editor for the Buffalo Law Review. Ms. Williams was also a teaching assistant for the Legal Research and Writing course. She received a Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude, from the University at Buffalo in 1975. Ms. Williams is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. In addition to her professional responsibilities, Ms. Williams is a member of the Board of Directors of Buffalo Opera Unlimited, Inc.,
