Carolyn A. Hill-Maggiore

Carolyn A. Hill-Maggiore joined the State University of New York as an Associate Counsel at Stony Brook University in October, 2014. She was retained as a Specialized Healthcare Attorney to commence guardianship proceedings relative to Stony Brook University Hospital patients and to litigate recurrent contract dispute issues with healthcare insurance plans.

Prior to joining SUNY, Ms. Hill-Maggiore was employed as an Associate with the law firm of Lewis, Johs, Avallone, Aviles, LLP and then as a Trial Attorney for AIG, where she represented various individuals, business entities, hospitals and municipalities in all areas of litigation, including municipal liability, premises liability, vehicular negligence, labor law and medical malpractice.

Ms. Hill-Maggiore received her Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University School of Law in 1994 where she was the recipient of a St. Thomas More Scholarship. She was awarded her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1985. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York’s Second Judicial Department and the United States District Courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is a member of the New York State and Suffolk County Bar Associations.
