Jeffrey A. Meyers

Jeffrey A. Meyers joined the State University of New York Office of General Counsel in 2016 as an Associate Counsel at the SUNY System Administration Office responsible for system and university-wide real property matters and transactions. 

Prior to SUNY, Jeffrey worked at the Office of the New York State Attorney General’s Real Property Bureau for four years, where he assisted in the State acquisition of open space and parkland for the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. He also assisted in the acquisition of property by the State University of New York, New York State Department of Corrections and Counseling Services, and the New York State Office of General Services. Prior to his time with the Attorney General's Office, Jeffrey worked in the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation for thirteen years, providing legal advice on a wide variety of issues including: real property, housing, historic preservation, environmental and energy law, Municipal Parkland Alienation and Conversion, Native American matters, boating, snowmobiles, the Empire State Games, and the Agency's diverse grant programs. 

Jeffrey graduated from Skidmore College with honors in 1990, and received his Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude in 1995 from the University at Buffalo School of Law. After graduating, Jeffrey clerked for the Honorable David N. Hurd, who at the time was a United States Magistrate Judge but now serves as a District Court Judge.  In 1996, Jeffrey began clerking for the Honorable Lawrence E. Kahn, United States District Court Judge. Jeffrey is an admitted member of the New York Bar, and admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Northern District of New York.
