Carol P. Stenger currently serves as the Director of the Advocacy Center for Sexual Violence at the University at Albany. In addition to providing support and advocacy services to students as well as their friends and families around sexual violence, she is responsible for the oversight of a comprehensive health promotion and prevention program on sexual violence and sexuality. In 1994, Carol founded and directs a 50 member peer education group entitled Project SHAPE: Sexual Health and Peer Education which provides over 120 sexual violence, sexuality and sexual health workshops each year for the University at Albany community. She completed all of the coursework in a doctoral program in Human Sexuality from New York University and possesses a M.Ed. in Counseling from Pennsylvania State University.

Carol has studied cross-cultural sexuality in Denmark, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Russia and Estonia. She teaches two human sexuality courses on the University at Albany campus. Carol is a regular speaker and trainer on sexuality topics at schools, universities, community based agencies, and has appeared on local radio and television shows.
