Tanhena Pacheco Dunn, Esq. was appointed as the first Executive Director for Compliance and Campus Climate in 2012.  In this new role Mrs. Pacheco Dunn is responsible for monitoring the college’s compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures as they apply to: Title IX and Title VII and Affirmative Action.  Mrs. Pacheco Dunn serves as the college’s ethics officer and is responsible for the campus administration of NYS Ethics regulations and also serves as the point of contact on relevant compliance questions from state, federal or other regulatory agencies. As Executive Director for Compliance and Campus Climate, Mrs. Pacheco Dunn coordinates interdepartmental efforts that examine and address issues of diversity and inclusion that impact, employment matters, student life and overall campus culture.   

Prior to her appointment at New Paltz, Mrs. Pacheco Dunn served over eleven year as the Assistant Director of Human Resources at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., where she was responsible for employee relations issues including compliance, performance management and staffing needs for over 1,100 employees. She also worked with the EEOA office to support continued training in regards to harassment, non-discrimination and Title IX. Mrs. Dunn experience also includes management of Worker’s Compensation, Family Medical Leave and Disability leave, administrative oversight of three collective bargaining agreements and assisted with drafting policies and responses to legal matters. Mrs. Pacheco Dunn holds her juris doctor degree from Albany Law School of Union University and her Bachelor of Arts as an English Major from Vassar College.
