CUCAP Community Building Task Force

Charge: This Task Force will review and make determinations regarding the future meetings of CUCAP. The group will focus on creative ways to build community and create networking opportunities for the membership. By reviewing the CUCAP Summer 2017 Survey results, this Task Force will discuss the preferences of its members and will map out a series of events, drive-in meetings and/or other for the 2017-2018 academic year which may inform a meeting model for future years.

Task Force Make-Up: The task force shall be made up of a convener (CUCAP Co-Leader) and 1 representative of each institutional type (Community College, Technology, University Center, University College, and Doctoral Granting/Specialty).  Andrew Binder, SUNY System Contact, shall serve as an ex-officio non-voting member, as necessary.

CUCAP Governance & Finances Task Force

Charge: The goal of this task force is to research, draft, and make recommendations for a formalized structure for SUNY CUCAP.  It is recommended that the group research any existing or former CUCAP governing documents and review other SUNY functional groups for models and best practices.  The group should prepare a constitution and/or other governing document(s) that serve the needs of the community.  Lastly the group should clarify if any existing bank accounts exist for CUCAP and make recommendations for fiscal procedures. 

Process:  Once the task force completes the governing document(s), the task force will share the document(s) on the listseMeetingrv.  It shall be reviewed at a future CUCAP face to face meeting and then voted on by the membership of CUCAP (one vote per campus).  This election will be conducted electronically.  Once a governance structure is effective, elections for leadership positions shall commence per the provisions of the governing document(s).

Qualifications for both roles:

At the time of application, individuals must be professional staff members in a college union or activities office at a State University of New York Institution. Applicants must have a commitment to fulfilling the duties of the position; and organization/supervisor awareness of the commitment. Applicants must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Time Commitment:

Serving in this volunteer capacity will require a commitment of 3-4 months, though this varies by the specific project work of the role. Over the course of the term, volunteers should anticipate approximately 2-3 hours of conference call and project work per month.
