Capital Program Impact and Achievements

SUNY's four capital programs - educational facilities, hospitals, residence halls and community colleges - positively impact all regions of New York State. The information below highlights the tangible benefits from 2008 to the present of investment in the renovation of existing and construction of new buildings to provide state-of-the-art facilities that support campus programmatic needs. As illustrated in each document SUNY’s capital programs significantly contribute to New York’s economy in many ways including providing direct and indirect jobs in every region of the state.

In addition to the economic development benefits, all major renovations and new facilities and major renovations are constructed to a minimum Silver LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standard, thereby providing energy efficient facilities as the standard for all SUNY design and construction.
