Chancellor’s Grant for Innovative Study Abroad

Chancellor’s Grant for Innovative Study Abroad Programs (ISAP Grant)

Supported by the SUNY Office of Global Affairs (OGA)

The Chancellor’s Grant for Innovative Study Abroad Programs (ISAP Grant) is a competitive grant providing financial support to unique study abroad programs and opportunities to increase student mobility overseas.

This program is currently suspended due to lack of funding availability. This situation may be revisited in the Fall of 2022 for study abroad programs to be offered in Academic Year 2023-2024.

Background

Initially established in 2003 as CAFI (Chancellor’s Award for Internationalization), the Chancellor’s Grant for Innovative Study Abroad Programs has supported the development of 65 unique program opportunities for SUNY students to study abroad in traditionally underrepresented regions and academic fields.  The continued investment in increasing possibilities for students throughout all courses and degrees to benefit from the life-long impact of studying abroad supports the creation of "a globally competent student body."

The ISAP Grant is one of the ways in which the Office of Global Affairs and the SUNY Council on International Education are working together to support faculty, enable greater student access to education abroad, and preparing them for the interconnected nature of today's world.
