Office of Academic Health and Hospital Affairs
Overview
SUNY System has a vast healthcare system consisting of four Academic Health Centers; five hospitals; four medical schools; two dental schools; the College of Optometry; a Long Island State Veterans' Home; campus health centers; campus counseling centers; 40+ nursing schools; numerous allied health education programs; and more.
The Office of Health and Hospital Affairs (OHHA) advances and supports the strategic direction of SUNY's vast healthcare portfolio. OHHA serves to:
- Monitor the operations and finances of healthcare facilities to ensure accountability and sound fiscal management.
- Partner with campuses to continually improve health and mental health services for students.
- Promote readiness and supporting public health efforts to protect and support students and staff.
- Lead healthcare workforce efforts to help address the serious shortages affecting healthcare delivery.
- Advance positive and impactful health policy and funding changes in addition to actively participating in the Budget and Legislative process.
