Given the growing need for prevention programming on our campuses, and the often unfunded mandates colleges and Universities are facing, many campuses are reasonably turning to peer educators to assist in their prevention education. Peer education can be a powerful tool, as peers are recognized as the single most potent source of influence on undergraduate student affective and cognitive growth and development during college. But as with most efforts, you get out of it what you put into it; this session will share SUNY Buffalo’s process for cultivating student leaders, including recruitment, training, and ongoing development, as implemented within our overall strategy for sexual violence prevention since 2007.
After your request has been approved, you'll receive instructions for joining the meeting.
