Workforce Development

Workforce Development

SUNY has a significant portfolio dedicated to workforce development. This includes state and federal dollars for registered paid apprenticeships, for paid registered apprenticeships, workforce development and job linkage funds.

In partnership with the business community, the NYS Department of Labor and U.S. Department of Labor, we support training in a variety of sectors including advanced manufacturing, healthcare, information technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and other, non-construction sectors.

More than 5,100 individuals have been approved for, or are engaged in, pre-apprentice or apprenticeship courses, instruction to prepare the student to enter the job market or training to provide skills to retain or grow within a job. These courses may be credit or non-credit and provide a pathway to degrees and jobs.
