Website Accessibility

Web accessibility is the idea that people with disabilities, whether visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, or neurological disabilities, can utilize the web, meaning that they can perceive, understand, navigate, interact with and contribute to the web because the content has been designed to be accessible. There are several federal laws and regulations that prohibit discrimination on the basis of a disability, and websites that are not accessible to individuals with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, or neurological disabilities could be seen as discrimination pursuant to those laws.  Many resources exist to help website content creators determine what makes a website accessible.
