Office of Emergency Management

The Office of Emergency Management supports system-wide campus programs to promote safety and resilience across the SUNY community.

The Office provides an oversight of SUNY campuses, community colleges, and hospitals with respect to emergency planning and management. By fostering partnerships between campuses, empowering stakeholders through education, and maintaining state-of-the-art emergency protocols, we ensure that learning can thrive in an environment of preparedness and security. Our commitment extends beyond immediate crisis response to building a culture of readiness that supports the educational mission of every campus in our system. The Office serves as primary agency liaison to the NYS Dept. of Homeland Security, supporting the State Emergency Operations Center as well as campuses during states of emergency.

This forum serves as a platform for campus Emergency Managers. It facilitates two-way communication with campus emergency contacts during critical situations, allowing for the exchange of information, status updates, and requests for resources. Additionally, it is utilized during the activation of the State Emergency Operations Center. Access to this forum is limited to the designated primary emergency contacts from each campus.
