Governance of the SUNY SOC
ββββThe SUNY SOC is not a part of SUNY System Administration or any one particular campus or service organization. It is a membership organization within SUNY, with similarities to SICAS Center or ITEC in organization, but not directly the same. There are three governing branches to the SUNY SOC.
SUNY SOC Administrator
Role: Provide daily operational management for the SUNY SOC.
Executive Leadership Board
Role: Provide mission, policy, services, and budgetary oversight responsibility for the SUNY SOC.
Members: Are elected/appointed to the board using the following representation ratio:
- One voting individual (typically the CIO) is designated by each member college.
- The voting individuals will elect an Executive Leadership Board with the authority and responsibility to represent all member colleges.
- Board – all voting representatives must be from member colleges
- Four representatives elected by the member colleges
- Two from state-operated colleges
- Two from community colleges
- One Vice President of Finance and Administration representative from SUBOA
- One Vice President of Finance and Administration representative from CCBOA
- One CIO representative from SUNY CCIO
- SUNY SOC Administrator (ex officio, non-voting)
- SUNY CIO (ex officio, non-voting)
- A Chair is elected by the Executive Leadership Board
Operations Council
Role: Serves as an advisory body to the SUNY SOC Administrator and to the Chair of the Executive Leadership Board.
Members:
- The designated ISO from each SUNY member college will serve as a voting member of this advisory body
- The designated ISO from each SUNY non-member college (ex officio, non-voting)
- SUNY SOC Administrator (ex officio, non-voting)
