The SUNY General Education Transcript Addendum (GETA) was established to promote seamless transfer. The GETA is used to determine the general education requirements a student has completed, and a campus receiving a GETA is required to accept it as certification of completed general education requirements.
GETA formatting guidelines are designed to create a framework that can be replicated in various systems, while not prescribing specific style requirements. Whereas the GETA format should be reasonably uniform, there is an understanding that not all systems and tools permit the same type of formatting, and output may differ. If a campus has any questions about the appropriateness of their output or approach, they should feel free to send their example documents to studentmobility@suny.edu for review and assistance.
Campuses supported by the SICAS Center may utilize the applications and capabilities provided by SICAS. The SICAS applications and output conform to SUNY’s content requirements for the GETA.
