Another year of honoring outstanding students has arrived! Students have been selected for the Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence based on nominations from your campus. You are cordially invited to attend the awards ceremony Monday, April 27, 2026, from 2:00pm to 4:00 pm at the Albany Capital Center in downtown Albany, New York.
Thank you for supporting this prestigious award. A list of this year’s recipients was e-mailed to you. You are encouraged to contact each student from your campus to offer congratulations and ensure they have received their email notification regarding the award and ceremony information.
You are invited to attend the ceremony and accompany your awardee(s) and Chancellor John B. King, Jr. on stage when he presents your student(s) with their medallion and certificate. Please kindly respond by Monday, April 6, 2026, to let us know if you will attend the ceremony or if you have asked a designee to attend in your place. To respond to this invitation, please fill out the RSVP form.
Please plan to arrive at the Albany Capital Center by 1:00 p.m. and proceed to the 2nd floor for campus presidents or designees, and students. There, more information about the ceremony will be provided to them. You can keep your belongings at your seat while you are on stage or leave them at the coat check.
If an award recipient cannot attend the ceremony, how do they get their medallion and certificate?
After the ceremony, please go to the designated table to pick up your student’s award certificate and medallion. More information about the ceremony will be provided during the briefing.
Will there be a professional photographer during the event?
Yes. A professional picture will be taken with each award recipient, the Chancellor, and their campus representative. For student recipients who provided consent when they RSVP’d, their photos will be posted to the SUNY Facebook page after the event. Photos will also be provided to the campuses to distribute to their award recipients. We anticipate all photos to be posted and available by the end of May.
