Win Thurlow joined SUNY Counsel’s office as Associate Counsel in 2007. In this capacity, he provides legal support to SUNY Upstate Medical University and University Hospital. His work focuses primarily on campus and university affairs. Mr. Thurlow also serves as counsel to the Audit Committee of the SUNY Board of Trustees. Prior to joining SUNY, Mr. Thurlow was Assistant Attorney General-in-Charge of the Syracuse Regional Office of the New York State Attorney General from 1999 to 2007. In that capacity, he directed the activities of the New York Attorney General’s Office in the Central, Eastern Finger Lakes and Western Adirondack regions of the state. In 2007, Mr. Thurlow served as Special Counsel for Program and Policy at the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets and as Counsel to the Industrial Exhibit Authority. From 1987 to 1999, Mr. Thurlow was in private practice in Syracuse, New York where he worked in commercial and personal injury litigation. Mr. Thurlow received his law degree in 1987 from Georgetown University Law Center and is a 1984 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Union College.
