Q: Should deans or academic offices submit nomination applications on behalf of their nominees?
A: No. Per the award Policies and Procedures, individual faculty members within the nominee’s department (or related department) should submit applications for selected nominees.

Q: Is this award open to faculty across all disciplines?
A: Yes. This award is open to faculty across all disciplines, including performance-based or creative disciplines.

Q: Are researchers holding a title of “research associate” or similar, who conduct research and scholarly activities comparable to those of faculty members, eligible for this award?
A: No. Research associates or positions that conduct research but do not have other duties typically required of a faculty member (service, teaching, etc.) are not eligible for this award.

Q: What do nominees receive if awarded?
A: In addition to the recognition of their achievements early in their careers by winning this award, the 10 awardees will also be honored with a certificate from the Chancellor.

Q: If a faculty member has been full-time at the institution for several years but has not been a tenure-track faculty member for a full year yet, are they eligible to be nominated?
A: No. The intent of the eligibility guidelines is for faculty who have been in their tenure-track or tenured (or equivalent) role for at least one year in order to be nominated.
