Adam Haney is a Deputy General Counsel at the State University of New York Office of General Counsel. Adam joined the office in early 2016 at the Upstate Medical University Satellite Office before transferring to System Administration. In his current role as Deputy General Counsel, Adam oversees the Contracts and Student Affairs practice groups. He is also responsible for liaising with and managing campus-based teams at University at Buffalo, Stony Brook University, Downstate, Upstate, West Cam, and Farmingdale. Prior to joining SUNY, Adam was an Associate Attorney at Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP, where he specialized in commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He also worked in student affairs before attending law school.
Adam received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University at Buffalo School of Law where he served as an Executive Publication Editor for the Buffalo Law Review. He graduated from New York University with a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration and received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with high distinction, cum laude, from the University at Buffalo.
Adam is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, the State of New Jersey, the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Southern, and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Western District of New York and the District of New Jersey.
