Jackie Weisman is Associate Chief Campus Counsel at the Stony Brook University Office of General Counsel. She joined the SUNY Office of General Counsel in June 2017 as Associate Counsel at Stony Brook University and served as Interim Chief Campus Counsel between January 2025 and January 2026.
Jackie advises on labor- and employment-related matters, including performance management, background checks, reasonable accommodations and the interactive process, medical leaves, anti-discrimination law, and responding to governmental investigations. Prior to joining SUNY, Jackie served as in-house employment counsel at Canon U.S.A., Inc., and was an associate in the Labor Department of Proskauer Rose, LLP. Jackie earned her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Columbia University, and her Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law. Jackie is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
