Kelly Mooney Lester is Senior Counsel for Contract at The State University of New York Office of General Counsel. As Senior Counsel, Kelly specializes in contract law and commercial transactions.
During her time with the Office of General Counsel, Kelly has worked with six Western New York campuses: University at Buffalo; SUNY Buffalo State; Brockport; Fredonia; Geneseo; and Alfred State. She currently serves as part of the Contracts Practice Group at the main Office of General Counsel in Albany.
Prior to joining SUNY’s legal team, Kelly spent over 15 years in private practice in Albany where she gained substantial experience in regulatory compliance, contract law, estate planning and commercial litigation. She also served as confidential law clerk to New York Court of Claims Judge Jerome F. Hanifin in Binghamton. She is admitted to practice law in New York and Florida. Kelly graduated cum laude from Union College and Albany Law School where she participated in the accelerated six-year Law and Public Policy Program and served as Lead Articles Editor for the Albany Law Review
