Global Learning for All: Educating for a Sustainable Future

The Office of Global Affairs is a division of the Office of the Provost. SUNY Global is responsible for strategic planning, policy development, coordination and incubation, of system-wide global initiatives.

Vision:

Global Affairs is committed to building a more informed and inclusive society through global learning by supporting equity and providing opportunities.

Mission:

Educational services of the highest quality must empower students and prepare them for the interconnected nature of today's world. We seek to embed global learning as an integral part of the educational services provided by SUNY in support of communities across New York State and the world.

Major areas of responsibility and leadership:

  • Quality assurance for overseas academic programs
  • Collaborative program development, coordination and management
  • Represent all SUNY campuses and initiate and coordinate system-wide partnerships
  • International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) oversight, including the SUNY J-1 Exchange Visitor Program Consortium and the Council on International Student and Scholar Services (CISSS)
  • Education abroad: policy, review and risk management, in coordination with the SUNY Council on International Education (CIE)
