About the Consortium

The SUNY J-1 Exchange Visitor Program (EVP) Consortium was approved by the U.S. Department of State on January 14, 2013 and currently consists of 34 SUNY campuses and System Administration. The SUNY J-1 EVP Consortium includes community colleges, technology colleges, and university colleges and will offer a diverse range of educational environments and geographic locations to best suit our exchange visitors. The consortium provides the opportunity for consortium campuses to increase educational and cultural exchange between our campuses and international partners.

SUNY and its 64 campuses have an established history of internationalization, achieved through campus-specific programs and planning, as well as system-level initiatives and leadership. Our campuses together comprise one of the most diverse learning communities in the world. While many of our campuses have their own exchange visitor designations, the SUNY J-1 Exchange Visitor Program designation will allow us to continue to build mutually rewarding relationships through exchanges of educational and cultural opportunities throughout the entire SUNY system.
